Gluba Considering Run for Davenport Mayor

Bill Gluba, a former candidate for Congress in Iowa's 1st District, is considering running for Mayor in Davenport. Gluba ran for Mayor and lost 27 years ago.

From the Quad Cities Times...

A Realtor for ReMax River Cities, Gluba served a term as state representative from 1970-72, and then served two terms as a state senator from 1972-76. He also has served on the Scott County Board of Supervisors.

Gluba has three times run unsuccessfully for Iowa’s 1st Congressional District seat. He made a fourth bid in 2006 but lost in the primary.

Former Mayor Phil Yerington, who is considering another run at the seat, said Gluba would be an excellent choice for mayor.

“I heard the rumor that Bill was going to run, although I do think he would be a viable candidate because he has both business and political experience,” Yerington said. “If he decides to do this he could make it interesting. He comes with no baggage and with contacts in Washington D.C. which would be invaluable.
I have only heard good things from people in Eastern Iowa about this move by Gluba. I hope he decides to run.
