Harkin Supports Closing Gitmo, Where's Everyone Else

Senator Tom Harkin has introduced a bill into the Senate that would shut down the Guantanamo Bay prisons within 120 days of the bill’s passage into law. The bill is listed by the Library of Congress as S. 1469. The bill’s title is the Guantanamo Bay Detention Facility Closure Act of 2007.

The sad news about S. 1469: Although the bill was introduced to the United States Senate weeks ago, on May 23, 2007, so far not one single senator other than Tom Harkin has co-sponsored it.

I thought this was an issue that was popular among Democrats, yet where are they?

Dodd has co-sponsored a bill, S. 1249, to close Guantanamo. Haven't seen anything from the other candidates on this, though.
