Grandpa Goes Off the Wall

In the past day, Political Wire has posted 2 crazy quotes from John McCain that deserved to be noticed.

First, McCain said this to Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) defending himself over having missed many of the negotiation sessions on the recent immigration bill.

Fuck you! I know more about this than anyone else in the room.
Then McCain had this comment about Mitt Romney...
Maybe Mitt should get out his small varmint gun and chase those Guatemalans off his yard.
McCain is starting to get angry. Not raising enough money, dropping in the polls? There will surely be more of this to come later on the campaign trail.

you better be careful, john mccain will kick every girlie man's ass.

i grew up in a political household, you should hear the way these guys talk.

a few are real gentlemen, old school. Ford, Reagan and 41 were like that.

kennedy and carter were typical old navy guys.

nixon LBJ were absolutely filthy, almost offensive to me. said and did repulsive things.

W and Bubba are typical baudy babyboomers. "Fuck" is our favorite word.

i kind of think senators need to hear it a little more often, might humble them a little bit.

Everyone in Washington knows that McCain has a terrible temper. I'm always amazed that journalists have kept this quiet for so many years on his behalf.

In contrast, Howard Dean, who anyone in Vermont could tell you was not a hothead, was made out by mainstream media to look like this crazed, angry guy. I'm not talking about the scream, I'm talking about for months before that.

I didn't support Dean in the last caucuses, but the caricature of him was just ridiculous. Meanwhile, "Straight talk" McCain was always made to appear so statesmanlike.

I look forward to watching McCain and Rudy go after Romney. I still think some conservative dark horse is going to take the GOP nomination, and it will be fun watching "Rudy McRomney" go down in flames.

I'd heard that Reagan never used profanity. Interestingly, Yeltsin supposedly never did either, but Gorbachev had a filthy mouth. Can't remember where I read that.

That's just more of McCain's "Straight Talk," you see. Lay it out there for everyone to see, don't fluff it up with fancy words and diplomatic ways.

Personally, I find it a little funny, but more embarrassing. Put McCain on the Straight Talk Express to the retirement ranch, if you ask me.
