I found it interesting that Hillary Clinton is holding her event in Des Moines at the same time as this rally. That won't help win over the anti-war caucus goers.

Just like HC isn't it. Ignore the Progressive Dems, the Iraq War debacle and hold a personal, political event that steps on the message that ALL Democrats need to be driving home.

Does she have a tin ear? does she not care about what the country KNOWS needs to be done to get us out of Iraq? or is she too embarrassed about her non-denial denial that her vote for the IWR was a mistake?

I think it's the latter. AND she SHOULD BE embarrassed at a time when we all need to be united -- she's doing only what's advantageous to her.

What are Edwards and Obama doing that day? They both claim to be against the war (in Edwards's case, only since it became popular), but I don't see them lending their voices to the anti-war movement.

It doesn't surprise me that Hillary Clinton won't be at the Anti War Rally. It does surprise me that she is hosting her own event at the very same time creating a direct head to head conflict. That is more of an "in your face" gesture than I expected from her.

Edwards has spent so much time in Iowa already that I am kind of shocked that he would miss this one, since he is positioning himself as anti-war now. Maybe he doesn't want to be there to answer questions about his recent statements about Iran.

I can't say that I know where the other candidates will be tomorrow, but do recall that this is a nation-wide event. Just because someone is not in Iowa or at HyVee hall does not mean that they are not participating in the Anti-escalation initiative. Those candidates who happen also to be US. Senators have a platform, already, to work against the war---by their votes

Obama spoke at an anti-war rally back in 2002 or 2003 before the Iraq War began when he was a state Senator.
