Sen. Gronstal responds to Senate Minority Leader Paul McKinley's request to co-sponsor a leadership bill that would define marriage as between a man and a woman.
Gronstal's comments about his daughter reflect recent poll by the University of Iowa that found 60 percent of Iowans under age 30 support same-sex marriage, and three-fourths of Iowans under 30 favor some formal recognition of same-sex relationships.

An Illinoyance over here--I love this guy! I wish we had a Gronstal in our state house.
I posted that clip on my blog, too. I was really impressed with Mike Gronstal. Instead of appealing to people's fears and bigotry, he appealed to their common sense and decency. And you can hear the emotion in his voice. Way to go, Iowa!
