And They Say the Race is Tied

I agree the presidential race between Barack Obama and John McCain is tightening the past few weeks, but it is a far stretch to say the race is tied.

Pollster.com lists 112 polls between the two since Obama captured the Democratic nomination in early June. It breaks down like this:

Obama ahead: 101

McCain ahead: 6

Ties: 5

The media craves yard sticks by which to meassure the -now-, and in such a climate the only poll that matters is the one that was released the closest to air time.

Polls mean squat, and given the electoral college national polls mean less then squat.
