Hillarious!
Let's face it. Gas will be $5 per gallon in less than 5 years. So lets just slap a $2 per gallon tax on gas right now (or gradually over the next 2 years) and use the money to reduce federal income tax. This will definitely lower demand for gas and slow (or reverse) the rate at which the oil companies can raise the price of gas. Less money for oil companies means more money for you and me.
Please, please tax my gas !!!
