Matthew Dowd, Bush's pollster from 2004, has come to some conclusions on Iraq including this one that shows Americans support the troops, but want to end the war.The public does not see withdrawal from Iraq as a signal America doesn't support the troops. In fact, the public sees removing the troops from harm's way and having them in a place where the mission is supported, welcomed and understood as the most proper way to support our troop

But the Bush administration will never, ever listen to the American populace - we might as well not exist, except as little cogs in the Machine. And the Iraqis have even less influence on the issue.
BushCo will push Iraq off on the enxt administration, wash their hands of it and start working the lecture/book circuit.
