WhichCandidate has the Best Hot Dog?

This evening the Thanks with Franks celebration is taking place in downtown Marshalltown. Businesses on Main Street will be passing out free hot dogs with an award going to the best themed hot dog. There will also be live music, wiener dog races, and other entertainment. Music begins at 5:30, hot dogs are served at 6:00.

The Marshall County Democrats have their headquarters on Main Street and will be participating in the Thanks with Franks celebration. The County Democrats will be serving Democracy Dogs, but have also invited the presidential campaigns to come up with their own themed hot dogs. Scheduled to be serving hot dogs is the Obama campaign, Edwards campaign, Richardson campaign, and Clinton campaign. I would have to say Obama is the favorite going into this contest because of his Chicago roots though rumors have it that the Edwards group has a surprise up their sleeves with their Southern Comfort dog.

Here is the grocery list of ingredients the candidates requested. Take a look and chime in with who you think will have the best hot dog.

1) 4 lbs of fresh salsa from the Mexican grocery on Main Street (for Richardson)

2) Ketchup (Heinz, of course) (for Edwards)

3) Mustard (for Edwards & Obama)

4) Sweet pickle relish (for Obama)

5) Kosher pickle spears (Obama)

6) Pickled Serrano peppers (Obama)

7) Onions (for the sauce (Clinton) and some chopped (Obama))

8) Sauerkraut (Clinton)

9) Celery salt (silly Chicagoans)

10) Paper towels and napkins for everyone!
