Gonzalez is Just Doing His Job

The Senate is expected to cast a vote of no-confidence today for Attorney General Alberto Gonzalez after questioning his leadership in the attorney purge scandal and possible attempts at voter fraud.

I don't understand Senators questioning if Gonzalez was successfully doing his job. He was. Gonzalez's job since 1994 has been at George W. Bush's attorney. He was general counsel to then Governor Bush, then named by Bush to be the Sec. of State of Texas and to the Texas Supreme Court. When Bush was came to the White House, Gonzalez tagged along. He was Bush's White House counsel and then was named at Attorney General.

The point is all along Gonzalez's job was to protect George W. Bush and give him legal aid. Gonzalez is there to protect Bush regardless what the constitution or anyone else says. Why then should we expect Gonzalez to stop doing that when he became Attorney General?
