So Nussle Says he is a Special Parent

The Des Moines Register ran a story that discusses the role of faith in the lives of the candidates for Governor. These quote from Nussle caught my eye...

My relationship with Jesus Christ was cemented with the birth of my oldest child, who was born with Down syndrome and who is a constant source of challenge and joy. The day after she was born I was told by my friend and minister that God gives special children to special parents and that I will need to spend a lifetime trying to earn that title with God’s help. He was right, and with God’s grace and guidance, I am still working to be a good parent.
So if Nussle is such a special parent then why did he leave his wife and daughter and marry his mistress right after he ran a campaign promoting family values? You are right Jim, you still need a lot of work on being that special parent.

Do you take offense to everything Nussle says?

He talks about raising a child with Downs syndrome and you attack him for it?

Wow.

Attack him on his record in congress. The budget. His political beliefs.

But taking a personal shot at him and using a quote about his rising a special needs child is weak and feeble.

So you are saying that a good Christian thing to do is have an affair and then leave your family and marry your mistress?

This has nothing to do with Nussle having a special needs daughter and everything about him claiming to be a special parent and claiming family values when his record shows the opposite.

This is the number one thing about Nussle that makes my blood boil (several things about him upset me but this is no. 1). He has no right to wear a 'Special Parent of the Year' badge when he has ignored the needs of his daughter to play grab-the-fanny and whatever the hell else he's done since he divorced his wife and moved on to greener pastures in DC. I am amazed at his arrogance and amazed that he continues to use his child with special needs for his own political ambitions.

Wow. That article was 100% government PR.

Just another example of the press acting as a state-run media.
